It started with Reagan, continued with Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, and Obama. With Trump, we may have hit bottom. But maybe not. Maybe we still have some way to go: down, down, down.

Dr. Laulicht, a pioneer in the field of peace studies at the University of Pittsburgh, was a wonderful teacher who believed in my potential as a peace-wager long before I ever began to believe it myself.
