Israel's decimation of Gaza is taking place in broad daylight. The U.S. government is fully supporting Israel's actions—also in broad daylight. I assume this means that the governments of both nations believe that what they are doing to Gaza is legitimate both legally and morally. So why silence their critics?
If their critics are wrong, let the whole world see just how wrong they are. Otherwise, Israel and the U.S. create the impression that they do not believe themselves fully justified in their actions.
If that is the case, they should cease and desist what they are doing to Gaza.
If, for some reason, they are internally conflicted about their behavior, we should help them do the right thing.
